One of the many traditions at Notre Dame is that you can't walk up the steps to the main building (the one with the Golden Dome on top) until you graduate. When graduation finally comes it a big deal to walk up the steps and a line forms for people to go up the steps for the first time and take pictures.
Here is the picture of me and my parents on the steps the day I graduated:

Cory didn't graduate at the normal time, but we still made time for the steps anyway. Here is a picture his mom took of Cory and I on the steps the weekend after he defended his thesis.

It was a cold and snowy night in February instead of a sunny day in May, but it was exciting all the same!
